Bryant Man Facing Charges After Attempting to Elude Deputies on a Bicycle

Here’s a worthwhile piece of advice –never try to use a bicycle as a getaway car; it certainly didn’t work out for a 46 year old Bryant man Monday night in DeKalb County.

The incident occurred around 10:30 that night on County Road 784 when a sheriff’s deputy who was conducting extra patrol, encountered the man.  After the man saw the officer – the chase was on, as the subject on the bike fled into a yard, and traveled onto County Road 141 refusing to stop despite being ordered to do so.

After another deputy joined that chase, the subject abandoned the bike and fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.

Byron Gentry was soon located and taken into custody – charged with Resisting Arrest, and Attempting to Elude.  He also had an outstanding warrant for Domestic Violence.
