Budget Discussion Leads To Heated Exchange Between City Council Members

A fiery exchange between Centre City Councilman Derrick Wheeler and Councilwoman Bess Yarbrough during Tuesday’s meeting of the Centre City Council centered around a motion made by Wheeler last September regarding the dispersion of over $84,000 generated from unbudgeted funds to the police, fire, streets and sanitations department and to schools inside the Centre City Limits.

And Councilman Wheeler is correct; we do indeed have that clip from that September 2013 meeting –

Wheeler maintains that he had no idea that the budget had even been handed out until this week’s meeting and that’s when a rather heated exchange took place between he and Councilwoman Yarbrough –

Following all that the council did not pass its budget and is scheduled to do so during a special Called meeting set for next Tuesday at 4:00 at City Hall.
