CEDAR BLUFF – Preston Burt homered and drove in three runs to help lift the Cedar Bluff Tigers past Appalachian 12-8 in Class 1A, Area 12 baseball action on Tuesday.
Eli McFry added a double for the Tigers (5-8, 4-2). Jacob Burleson contributed a hit, two runs and a RBI. Hagen Stallings had a hit, a walk, two runs and a RBI. Hunter Stallings collected a hit, two runs and a RBI. Bucky Leek scored twice. Corey Teague walked and scored a run.
Burleson earned the win after working 6 1/3 innings. He gave up three earned runs on six hits with five walks and eight strikeouts. Kaden Pack picked up a save after working 2/3 of an inning, giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts.
Cedar Bluff is scheduled to play at Gaylesville on Friday at 4 p.m.
