Calhoun County Authorities Recover Stolen Property From Centre & Piedmont, Suspect Charged With Trafficking Meth

On Wednesday of this week Calhoun County deputies went to the area of Old Piedmont Gadsden Hwy. & Law Martin Rd. to conduct directed patrols for reports of theft, burglaries, and drug dealing.

As soon as deputies arrived in the area a vehicle driven by an unknown subject  was pulling out of a driveway saw the deputies then exited the vehicle and ran in the woods.

Deputies observed numerous weapons and house hold items stacked in the back seat of the vehicle.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and address that resulted in stolen items being recovered from burglaries in Piedmont, a motorcycle from Florida, a John Deere riding lawn mower theft from Centre and other stolen property.

The resident is a convicted felon. He possessed firearms in the house along with over four ounces of methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $12,000.00.

Tommy Higdon was arrested at the residence for Trafficking in Methamphetamine.  His bond and court date has yet to be set.

The investigation continues into additional individuals and charges.
