Calhoun County Burglary Suspect Turned In by Father

HolifieldA young man wanted for his alleged part in a burglary occurring last week, has been turned in by his father.

Officers took 20 year old Immanuel Isaiah Holifield into custody earlier this week, saying he had acted as a getaway driver in a burglary that occurred at a home on White’s Gap Road in Calhoun County.

Police say that Holifield was waiting in a car parked in the driveway while another person was in the house; a family member of the homeowner saw the strange car in the driveway, and pulled in to investigate – at that point, Holifield drove away, leaving the other suspect behind.

The man left behind managed to flee the home and escape law enforcement before they could set up a perimeter around the area.

Investigators soon identified Holifield as a suspect in that case, and after his father became aware of the situation he called police and told them he would bring his son in.  Holifield has refused to ID the second suspect involved in the incident.

The burglary victim reported several guns being taken from the residence and police said that the second subject, who pointed a gun at the family member of the homeowner should be considered armed and dangerous.
