The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a number of individuals during their initiative which was conducted in conjunction with the 12th annual National Family Day Apprehension Detail.
That operation consisted of serving outstanding family and domestic violence warrants, in addition to warrants for any sex offenders found to be in non-compliance with registration guidelines.
In an interview conducted by ABC3340 Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson explains the need for such check-ups:
Deputies and U.S. Marshals recently did compliance checks on all registered sex offenders residing in Calhoun County – finding that about 40 out of 400 people that the sheriff’s office keeps records on – were in violation.
