A candlelight vigil was held over the weekend in neighboring Chattooga County, Georgia for 15 year old Zach Mejia.
Friends and family members gathered Sunday at Living Waters Church, to celebrate the life of the young man who was fatally stabbed last Wednesday night at a residence in Lyerly.
Andy Espinosa, age 29 of Rome – was taken into custody at the scene, and has been charged with one count of Murder, and also one count of Aggravated Assault, in connection with the incident. Espinosa was reportedly in a relationship with the victim’s mother.
The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office and GBI continue to investigate.
