iStock/Thinkstock(AMATRICE, Italy) — More than two weeks after a magnitude 6.2 earthquake hit central Italy, rescue workers have made an amazing rescue.
Firefighters were helping a family retrieve any items of value from the rubble of their home this week when they heard a faint meow.
Pietro the cat, who the family believed had died in the earthquake, was then pulled from the ruins.
Rescue workers said they believed Pietro survived for 16 days on rainwater and a little air.
