Mrs. Cathy J. Mitchell, age 71 of Fort Payne, passed away Sunday, January 31st at her residence.

Graveside services will be 1:PM Thursday, February 4th at Oaknoll Cemetery in Rome, GA with Rev. Zac Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 until 12:PM Thursday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers include Dylan Eaton, Skylar Blankenship, Levi Blevins, Braxton Blankenship, Damon Whitmore, Dax Stiefel.

 

Survivors include sons, Rod (Tammy) Blankenship of Fort Payne, Kirk (Paige) Blankenship of Centre, Darrell Mitchell of Gaylesville, Tracy Mitchell of Gaylesville; step-mother, JoAnne Free; grandchildren, Levi(Nichole) Blevins, Skylar Blankenship, Kaley (Zac Martin) Blankenship, Braxton Blankenship, McKenzie (Damon) Whitmore, Laci Blankenship, Dylan Eaton and Silas Blankenship; great- grandchildren, Layla Blevins, Benjamin Blevins, Keyleigh Whitmore and Baby Whitmore; special friend, Sherie Chandler.

 

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Rodney Blankenship and Donald Mitchell; brother, Barry Free.

Mrs. Mitchell was a native of Rome, GA, the son of the late Ray and Opal Edwards and Johnny Free, and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Fort Payne.
