Cave Spring, FLOODING, Georgia, Mayor
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

All roads in Cave Spring were open again Friday morning following a day of flooding on Thursday.

The area has received about six inches of rain since Tuesday and it was too much for Cedar Creek, which spilled over, flooding streets and at least one business. Police worked to temporarily relocate some residents as the flood waters approached homes.

Truck traffic on highway 411 was diverted away from the downtown area and Cave Spring Elementary closed early and remains closed today.

Cave Spring Mayor Dennis Shoaf is asking residents to email any photos they have of flooded conditions, flooding and flood damage.

The city is collecting photos to be used by local and state emergency management agencies.

That address: mayor@cityofcavespring.com.
