CCHS Bass Fishing Team Competes in State Tournament on Smith Lake

Bass 8Recently the Cherokee County High School Bass Fishing Team competed in the ASABFA (Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association) state tournament on Smith Lake.

There they finished in 38th place for the season.  There were a total of 205 boats fishing in each tournament. The team has been fishing since the fall in tournaments and qualified for state in the spring on Pickwick with the team catching over 35 lbs total that day. The team has fished on Neely Henry, Logan Martin, Lake Martin and Pickwick Lake; each tournament they fish only five of their eight boats are allowed.

The team would like to thank all of their sponsors and the volunteers for making this year possible.
