Alabama Teachers Credit Union is proud to present Mr. Matthew Pharr, teacher at Cherokee County High School, as the January 2020 Teacher of the Month for the Cherokee County area, in partnership with WEIS Radio.
Mr. Pharr recognized early on that he wanted to be a teacher when he would help fellow students with homework. He still gets the same feeling of gratification today while helping students grasp new concepts.
Mr. Pharr enjoys the relationships that he builds with his students and seeing what they achieve in life is extremely rewarding. When Mr. Pharr hears students express how much they enjoyed his class, and how much they grew it really makes him realize the true importance of his calling and how education matters in the grand scheme of things. He says it is truly validating to him to see his students succeed in life.
Mr. Pharr wants students and parents to understand that learning is a partnership that involves the community as a whole. It is imperative for us to connect learning as a way to improve ourselves.
Congratulations, Mr. Pharr, and thank you for all you do for the future of our communities!
