Cedar Bluff 4×400 girls, 4×100 boys, Leek claim state medals

CULLMAN – The Cedar Bluff girls 4×400 meter relay team took home gold medals, while Anbre Leek earned silver in the javelin and the Tiger boys 4×100 meter relay claimed bronze at the Class 1A state track and field meet in Cullman over the weekend.

The girls 4×400 relay team of Skye Jordan, Breunna Satcher, La’shaya Satcher and Taranisha Stitts posted a time of 4:34.74. Leek’s throw was 147-03. The boys 4×100 team of Kade Browning, Nick Clifton, Artie Duvall and Leek ran 47.01 seconds.

Austin Richardson earned fifth place in the 1A boys 800 meter run. His time was 2:19.78.

Dylan Kinard came in seventh in the boys discus (93-09). He was also 13th in the javelin (108-06) and 15th in the shot put (35-06.50).

Aden Green finished seventh in the javelin (116-05). Clifton came in eighth in the boys 110 meter hurdles (20.57), and Artie Duvall finished 13th in the boys 400 meter dash (56.81).

The Tiger boys were ninth overall in the team standings after earning 23 points. Linden won the boys meet with 93 points. Cedar Bluff’s girls were 17th with 10 points. Marion County girls won the meet with 59 points.

The meet marked the final one coached by Joe Carpenter. He announced he was stepping down from Cedar Bluff back in March.
