Cedar Bluff Fugitive Captured in Silver Creek, Georgia

CCSO - Clifton - 05-28-2013Fugitive Randall Terry Clifton has been captured.

According to information contained in a news release from Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Clifton was arrested Wednesday morning at a residence in the Silver Creek, Georgia area.

Clifton was taken into custody without incident, by the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Regional Task Force with the assistance of the Southeast Regional Task Force.

He was transported to the Floyd County Jail and he will be returned to Cherokee County pending extradition proceedings.

The 28 year old Cedar Bluff resident – whom authorities considered armed and dangerous – was being sought for his role in a domestic violence incident occurring on Memorial Day.

At around 11:00 that morning, sheriff’s office deputies were dispatched to a residence located on County Road 29 in the McCord’s Crossroads area – regarding an incident of domestic violence – however by the time they arrived, the suspect, Clifton, had already fled the scene.

He allegedly injured a woman Monday morning (May 27th), who was sent to an area hospital for treatment – no additional information on her condition has been released.

No word yet on Clifton’s exact charges.
