A Cherokee County man was booked into jail in neighboring Floyd County, Georgia over the weekend – after reportedly being observed attempting to steal from a store at Mount Berry Square Mall. According to Rome Police reports, Paul Alexandre Chadwick, age 33 of Cedar Bluff was seen taking a shirt from a shelf at the Belk store in the Mall then concealing it. He also allegedly put on a hat and walked around the store wearing it without paying for it.
Chadwick was taken into custody by police and charged with Shoplifting; following a check, it was determined that Chadwick had felony warrants for failure to appear in court through Rome and Cherokee County – with charges for Bail Jumping and Fugitive from Justice being added.
He was booked into jail Sunday.
