A Cedar Bluff man was recently arrested in Floyd County on an outstanding warrant, and wound up with additional charges after suspected drugs were found stashed in the back of the patrol car.
Police say they carried 18 year old Austin Kyle Hubbard to the Floyd County Jail on the warrant, and when they searched the patrol car afterwards – which is standard procedure – they reportedly found a clear bag containing meth under the rear seat.
Hubbard was then charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
Had he taken the drugs inside the jail – he could’ve been charged with having contraband beyond the guardline – which would’ve brought on additional charges.
