Cedar Bluff Man Has Been Arrested For Setting A Fire During A Drought Emergency

A Cedar Bluff man was arrested on Monday morning on charges of Setting A Fire During A Drought Emergency.

24 year old Kyle Lee Crane was arrested after warrants were issued following a report of a fire at Crane’s residence last Friday November 11th. Cedar Bluff Firefighters arrived at the location on Alabama Highway 9 North and found a fire in a burn barrel left unattended.

Burning During a Drought Emergency is a Class B misdemeanor and carries a fine of up to $3,000 or six months in the county jail.

Crane is the second person in the last week to be arrested in Cherokee County for violating the state’s No Burn Order. He was released from the Cherokee County Detention shortly after his arrest after posting a $500 bond
