New Cedar Bluff Police Canine Instrumental in Drug Trafficking Bust

It didn’t take long for the Cedar Bluff Police Department’s newest officer to make their first drug bust and it was a big one, netting a large quantity of methamphetamine, firearms, drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

That officer, the department’s new drug detention canine known as “Jagger” was brought to the scene of a traffic stop near the Cedar Bluff Park Tuesday night, where an alert was given to an odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle.

Afterwards, K9 Officer Chris Vaughn and Officer Seth Hood conducted a search which led to the discovery of that contraband.  In addition to a “trafficking weight” of methamphetamine and the other drug-related items officers found a large stash of money on the person of that male suspect.

Keioga Troy Quarles, 20 of Cedar Bluff and Chanda LaDonna Brumbelow age 26 from Rome Georgia were each charged with Trafficking Methamphetamines, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Both are lodged in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
