Cedar Bluff Student One Of Only Ten Students To Receive Nationwide Scholarship

Cedar Bluff’s Storm Bryant was 1 of 10 students nationwide to receive Schoolhouse Connection Scholarship.

The 2021 Scholars demonstrated dedication to their education, perseverance in overcoming barriers, and passion for higher education.

The selection committee is composed of local and state educators, counselors and young people with lived experience.

SchoolHouse Connection is a national non-profit organization working to overcome homelessness through education. They provide strategic advocacy and practical assistance in partnership with early childhood programs, schools, institutions of higher education, service providers, families, and youth. We believe education is the only permanent solution to homelessness. Their vision is that children and youth experiencing homelessness have full access to quality learning, birth through higher education, so they will never be homeless as adults, and the next generation will never be homeless.

Bryant said “I am very thankful that I received this scholarship. It means so much to me to be able to be one of the 10 people in the country to receive it. I know having the scholarship will help me in college with the money and people behind the scholarship.”

Storm will be attending the University of Montevallo this fall to pursue a degree in English.
