CENTRE – Four Cedar Bluff players scored in double figures to lead the Class 1A, No. 9 Tigers to a 74-37 throttling of Woodville in boys basketball sub-regional action on Tuesday at the Gadsden State-Cherokee Arena.
Keaton Kilgro led the charge for the Tigers (18-9) with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. Michael Croft and D’Shawn Fife both contributed 13 points. Zachary Isbell led the Panthers with 12 points. Kyle Dolberry added nine points.
Cedar Bluff jumped out to a 21-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and didn’t look back. The Tigers led 37-14 at halftime and 58-20 at the end of three quarters.
The Tiger victory clinched a spot in the Class 1A Northeast Regional Tournament at Jacksonville State University’s Pete Mathews Coliseum. Cedar Bluff will battle Talladega County Central (20-10) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Talladega County Central defeated Ragland 62-29 in other Class 1A sub-regional action on Tuesday.
The game will mark the fifth appearance at the Northeast Regional Tournament for the Tigers and their first since 2012.
