It was a very brief meeting for the Cedar Bluff Town Council this week. The council approved the minutes from the previous months meetings in addition to receiving a copy of the financial statements for the month.
Nancy Steed with CED Mental Health addressed the council to discuss the upcoming Youth Prevention Conference at Gadsden State Cherokee in March. Steed is once again requesting that the Town of Cedar Bluff help in providing funding for the conference. Mayor Tammy Crane said that the town had budgeted $500 for the program, a motion for that request was unanimously approved.
Police Chief Steve Walden also gave his monthly report. A membership request for Trey McMeekin was also approved for the Cedar Bluff Fire Department. McMeekin will be on a restricted membership basis because he is currently in high school and will graduate in May. According to the department this now brings their roster to full capacity.
In other business the council also approved a small list of surplus items from the maintenance department to be discarded.
