Cedar Bluff Town Council Member Tim Miller was removed from office during Tuesday’s meeting of the Cedar Bluff Town Council, in accordance to Alabama Code 11/40/25 any elected official that misses 90 consecutive days of meeting they are automatically removed from office. Under Alabama Code as of Sunday, November 11 Miller was officially removed from office.
Following some very brief discussion, the council immediately made a unanimous motion to reappoint him to that District 1 Seat.
In other business, the council made a motion to temporarily appoint former Leesburg Town Clerk Jennifer Mackey as the Town Clerk. The council also announced that they would be extending the application process for a full time Town Clerk through January. A motion was also approved appointing Rene Anderson as the new Municipal Court Clerk and Jennifer Mackey as Assistant Court Clerk effective immediately.
The council also received monthly reports from Police Chief Steve Walden and Assistant Fire Chief Matthew Sprayberry.
Before the meeting adjourned, former Cedar Bluff Fire Chief Jason Stewart spoke briefly concerning his dismissal from the department back in September. Following Stewart’s comments the council immediately adjourned the meeting with no discussion concerning the matter.
