Cedar Bluff Town Council Meeting

Cedar Bluff Town Council 2During this week’s meeting of the Cedar Bluff Town Council, they approved six streets for reclaiming and upgrading as had been recommended by Adam Lea, an Engineer with Ladd Environmental.

The Council approved some $169,000 from the alcohol funds to be used for the street upgrades. Some of those streets included are Armstrong, Rocky Ford Point, and Boundry Avenue among others.

Cedar Bluff Town Council 1Mayor Crane said the Town does not have the funds to do all that needs to be done, but you have to start somewhere.

The Council approved changes to rules governing wrecker rotation in the Town. Previously only those who were on the State rotation were eligible to provide service in Cedar Bluff, but that stipulation has now been removed from the governing rules.

Mayor Crane informed the Council the Town’s server crashed and they were operating in a very limited mode. The Council authorized the Mayor to replace the server at a cost of just more than $3,000. The air conditioning unit at Town Hall has quit. The Council authorized the Mayor to get the lowest bid and replace the unit.

The Police and Fire Chief gave their monthly reports and Mayor Crane asked for a work session for the 4th Monday in each month at 4:00pm. She said they would need the time to complete all the planning for Liberty Day.
