It was a relatively short meeting of the Cedar Bluff Utility Board on Tuesday – superintendent of Education Mitchell Guice was in attendance to discuss with the board some recent higher than normal water bill received at the Cedar Bluff Baseball Field.
The utility claims that for the month of September the bill was in excess of $1,800 and for the month of October over $800.
Those amounts, Guice said are around what the water bill normally is in a year’s time – it is believed that there may perhaps be a leak or the possibility that a toilet may have hung and gone unnoticed for a significant time.
None the less the Utility Board agreed that the bills were higher than normal – Board Chairman Ken Blair requested that the subject be tabled due to the fact that Norman Burton and Cindy Early were not present and to give him to discuss the matter with the them.
In other business – last meeting the board agreed to close out all accounts at Peoples Bank and transfer those accounts to Union State Bank – however Secretary Marie Kelly and Treasurer Linda Picklesiemer have suggested that the Bank Draft Account remain open at Peoples Bank.
Manager Jeff Harrell reported a fairly quiet for the month with only 48 work orders.
