Cedar Bluff’s McWhorter cleared to return Thursday

CEDAR BLUFF – Cedar Bluff head football coach Jonathan McWhorter has been cleared to return from quarantine on Thursday. He confirmed he will be on the sideline Friday night when the Tigers host Class 1A, Region 7 rival Coosa Christian.

McWhorter tested positive for COVID-19 on Oct. 12 and has been in quarantine ever since. He missed the Tigers’ region game at Appalachian on Friday.

Under the guidance of defensive coordinator Torey McDaniel, the Tigers posted a 48-28 win that secured a first-round home playoff game. The win evened Cedar Bluff’s record at 4-4 and 4-1 in region play.
