Cedartown Pair Arrested on Drug Charges Following Rome Traffic Stop

Two Cedartown, Georgia men were arrested on multiple charges after one of the men failed to stop his vehicle for police in the area of Shorter Avenue and Coker Drive Friday in Rome.

According to Floyd County jail records, Randy McClarity Jr., age 34, was observed picking up a box full of marijuana from the UPS store.  When police tried to stop McClarity’s vehicle, he took off.  During the chase, the box of marijuana was tossed out the window.

Once stopped, both McClarity and Deonquavious De’Shawn Williams, age 25, were arrested and charged with felony marijuana possession, abandonment of dangerous drugs, and the possession of a THC cartridge.

McClarity is also charged with fleeing or attempting to elude.
