Celtics Forward Jae Crowder Vents Frustration with Fans Cheering Opposing Player

Photo by Maddie Meyer/Getty Images(BOSTON) — Boston Celtics forward Jae Crowder reacted emotionally Tuesday night after seeing his home fans cheer an opposing player.

Many Boston fans cheered for Utah Jazz star Gordon Hayward before the two teams squared off on Tuesday. Hayward is a potential free agent after this season and played for Celtics coach Brad Stevens at Butler University.

Crowder plays a similar role to Hayward on the court, and said after the game that he took the fans’ cheers as “a sign of disrespect to me from the fans.”

He went on Twitter to continue venting his frustration.

He later deleted additional tweets, including one which said he would be okay with leaving Boston if he is no longer wanted.

The Celtics are off until Friday, and did not hold a practice on Wednesday. Crowder is likely to speak to members of the media on Thursday.
