Centre City Council Recognizes Rec. League Teams For Capturing State Titles

During this week’s meeting of the Centre City Council, the council recognized two Rec. League teams for the accomplishments in winning state titles recently.

Parents, Coaches and Players from the Boys BPA All-Star Blue Team and the Girls 12U USA State Championship Teams were honored during the meeting. Mayor Tony Wilkie praised the players for their accomplishments that they have been awarded.

In other business, the council approved the minutes from the previous meeting, approved the purchase of air-conditioning units for the auditorium of the JFK Rec. Center in the amount of $6,489 and for the old Police Department Building in the amount of $4,535 in addition to approving the sale of two 1985 Humvee vehicles belonging to the police department to be sold as surplus.

At the recommendation of the Fire Committee, the council agreed to accept sealed bids for equipment to be placed on Centre Engine 11.
