Centre Fire Department Adds New Truck To The Fleet

The Centre Fire Department has added a new vehicle to its fleet. Centre Engine 11 arrived at the Centre Station 1 on Friday morning.

The city council approved the purchase of the truck at a cost of $73,000 during their most recent meeting. The truck was delivered from the Pennsylvania.

Centre Fire Chief Jeremy Lee talks in depth about the truck.

Chief Lee said that the city has been looking for quite some time for an additional truck to add to the fleet, it just took finding the right vehicle that met the needs of the fire department.

This truck will also be beneficial to the mutual aid departments that the Centre Fire Department serves – on a personal note Chief Lee thanked all the departments and responders that serve Cherokee County.

Chief Lee said that he would like to thank Mayor Tony Wilkie and the City Council for their continued support of the fire department in making sure that they have the necessary equipment they need to provide invaluable services to the citizens they serve.
