The house used was located near the intersection of West Main Street & South Pratt Street and was obtained from the property owner after it was deemed a loss in a fire in June of 2014.
Centre Fire Chief Kevin Ware said these type exercises are conducted in order to prepare firefighters for “real life” situations and to better prepare the county’s fire departments when they have to work together.
Chief Ware also said that this is a perfect opportunity for his and other departments to test water supplies and firefighting equipment to make sure everything is in proper working order.
There were two trained Live Fire Instructors and four Fire instructors on hand for the session, Ware said these trainings are always preformed with under high supervision and safety is always number one.
Chief Ware wished to thank Centre resident Kevin Green as well as the staff and management of the Centre Wal-Mart for providing food and drinks during the course of the session.
