A 25 year old Centre man, Darrius Isaiah Williams, was booked into jail on charges of Arson 1st Degree just prior to 10:00pm Tuesday.
According to Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship, Williams was questioned then arrested in connection with a case of arson taking place during the early morning hours of that same day. Chief Blankenship stated that the State Fire Marshall will be assisting with the investigation, adding that he would like to extend his appreciation to Chief Investigator Randy Mayorga for his work on the case.
Williams remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center where a judge will set bond at a later date.
