According to information in a news release from Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver – a 50 year old sex offender has been arrested and charged with Failure to Register, as is required under Alabama Sex Offender Registration requirements.
Robert Merriel Dildine of 775 County Road 16 in Centre had failed to report to the sheriff’s office for his quarterly registration.
According to the sheriff’s office website Dildine is required to register as a sex offender due to a charge of Rape 1st Degree.
