A Cherokee County man was fatally injured in a DeKalb County accident taking place during the early morning hours of Wednesday. According to an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Public Information Officer, Trooper Curtis Summerville, 45 year old Christopher Lee O’Neal of Centre was killed just after 4:00am, when the ‘85 Chevy S-10 he was driving struck a tree lying in the road on U.S. 11 approximately a mile south of Ft Payne.
That accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
