Centre Native Braden Curry Completes Basic Training At Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri

A Centre man recently completed his Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

20 year old Braden Houston Curry enlisted 4 years active duty in the United States Army. Curry graduated back on August 1 and then traveled to AIT (Advanced Individualized Training) at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX.

Upon his completion of AIT in November he will be Combat Medic Specialist.

Braden is the son of JP & Michelle Curry, sister Harley Curry. Grandparents are John & Jane Curry and Steve & Ellen Walker all of Centre.

Braden follows in the footsteps of his grandfather John Curry who was in the Army, 3 of his late great grandfathers who were in the Army, William Houston Walker of Centre, William Thomas Curry of Hokes Bluff and Harley Eugene Lee of Cedartown.

Curry’s parents said he also wanted to be in the service and as a little boy and would run around calling himself Sergeant.

Curry is a 2017 graduate of Cherokee County High School and worked at the Centre Walmart until he enlisted.
