Centre Police Arrest A Leesburg Man On Drug/Paraphernalia Charges

A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a Leesburg man on drug charges on Wednesday night.

According to Sgt. Riley Combs officers stopped a vehicle being driven by 36 year old Jason Mallet for having only one headlight – Sgt. Combs said that Mallett also had an active warrant for non-support

A search of the vehicle turned up methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun

Centre Narcotics Officers assisted by Officer Tom Duke Arrested Mallett for Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and a warrant for Non Support.

Mallett was released from the Cherokee County Detention Center on Thursday morning after posting his $3,000 bond.
