The swift action of Centre Police Investigators has led to the arrest of two individuals for shoplifting from the Centre Wal-Mart.

According to Chief Investigator Randy Mayorga, 21 year old Shyee Montrell Kidd and 22 year old Lara Cole Worlando have been charged with Theft of Property 2nd Degree after stealing in excess of $2,000 worth of merchandise on Friday.

Mayorga said the pair took several video games and a Razr Scooter among other items and then covered them in the shopping cart with a large bag of dog food in an attempt to conceal the items.

Mayorga followed the subjects into Leesburg where Officer Joe Johnson assisted in the traffic stop.

Both were booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center where they remain without bond – all items were recovered and returned to Wal-Mart.

Investigator Mayorga wished to express special thanks to Leesburg Officer Joe Johnson and Centre Police Investigator Leigha Blake for their assistance in the case.
