Centre Police Make Two Arrests In Connection To A Felony Theft Case At Wal-Mart

Centre Police Investigators have made an arrest in a Felony theft case that occurred at the Centre Wal-Mart earlier in the month.

According to Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship, the Wal-Mart Asset Protection Associate discovered that there was a substantial of merchandise taken from the store.

The associate was unable to stop the suspect because he had already exited the store.

The APA associate noticed that there was also a female suspect involved with the male and attempted to approach her as she was leaving the store. The APA was able to obtain a tag number from the vehicle which led investigators to an address in Leesburg.

Chief Investigator Randy Mayorga went to the address and was able to identify both suspects involved in the theft. 59 year old Janice Annette Wooten and 67 year old Claudy Wooten both of Trenton, Georgia were booked in at the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of Felony Theft of Property 3rd Degree and later released after posting bond.

The Wooten’s are from Trenton, Georgia but had been staying at a lake home in Leesburg. Chief Blankenship stated that numerous hours of work went into bringing this case to a successful close.
