Centre Police Respond to Four Auto Accidents on Saturday

Centre Police worked four separate accidents on Saturday, two of those involving injuries and one involving a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

According to the Centre Police Department accident reports the first mishap occurred at 11:06 a.m. involving a 2012 Dodge 1500 pickup truck driven by Jamie Harper of Morrilton, Arkansas address and a Hyundai Sonata driven by David Alford of Centre.

Alford and his wife Mary were both transported by EMS ground units to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.

At 11:41 a.m. emergency crews responded to the scene of a second two vehicle accident at the intersection of Cedar Bluff Road & Armory Road involving a 2003 Dodge Neon being driven by Dustin Abernathy of Cedar Bluff and a 2002 GMC Envoy driven by Janice Kurtz of Centre. No injuries were reported in that accident.

At 4:25 p.m. emergency crews responded to a third accident on Cedar Bluff Road, this one involving a 2009 Hyundai Sonata driven by Linda Wyatt of  Centre and a 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck hauling a boat being driven by James Huffstettler from Moody, Alabama. Fortunately no injuries were reported in that mishap.

Then at 10:24 p.m. emergency crews were called to an accident involving a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on Cedar Bluff Road near the intersection of County Road 65.

According to the accident report a 2004 Dodge Avenger being driven by JaMichael Andrews of Centre struck the victim identified as Allen Perez of New York. According to Centre Police Perez was transported to Cherokee Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
