Man Wanted For Questioning By Centre Police, Released With No Charges Filed

A man wanted for questioning by Centre Police for his role in what was described as an odd encounter at the Centre Grub Mart has apparently been released after speaking with Investigators on Monday afternoon.

An unidentified white male entered the store between 10:45 and 11:05am Saturday, and began making small talk with the clerk – first asking for change for a $100 bill – then reportedly saying “…I have a gun and I’m going to rob you.”

The employee told the man “That’s not funny” and a customer behind the individual spoke up and at that point, the man walked out the door.

WEIS Radio News has learned that the individual was apparently joking about the entire situation and on Monday afternoon the subject, according to police, turned himself in and was released a short time later – no charges were filed against the individual.
