The Centre Rotary Club recently held its annual Officer Installation Banquet at the Dean H. Buttram, Sr., Senior Citizens Center. Lanny Starr, who served as the club’s 2013/14 President, thanked fellow officers and members for their support and volunteer efforts during the past year.
He then passed the gavel to Gene Cleveland, III, the President for the 2014/15 term and wished him well. Other officers for the 2014-15 term are Trudy Lowe, president-elect; Cindy Cline, secretary; Greg Rosser, treasurer; Lowell Hamilton, sergeant-at-arms and Jerry Scruggs, chaplain. Directors are Johnny Roberts, Cathy Griffeth, Barbara Harris, Carolyn Landrum, Dave Crum and Luanne Hayes.
Members are leaders in their professions, business and government. Club members are major sponsors for the SO-Cool summer program for area children. The program has been held since the summer of 1993.
