Centre Woman Arrested in Floyd County After Allegedly Giving Sister’s Name Instead of Her Own

A Cherokee County woman was booked into jail in neighboring Floyd County, Georgia, after she allegedly gave a false name to a Floyd County Police Officer.

Jail records indicate that on Monday, when Kayla Laray Wright, age 50 of Centre, was asked for her identification – she gave her sister’s name instead.

Once her true identity was determined, it was discovered she was wanted here in Cherokee County on an outstanding warrant for Non-Support.

In addition to the local Floyd County charge Wright was charged with being a Fugitive from Justice.
