Charlie Strong Says He Expects to Meet with UT Officials After Loss to TCU

Chris Covatta/Getty Images(AUSTIN, Texas) — Texas Longhorns coach Charlie Strong said Friday he expects to meet with school officials after losing 31-9 to Texas Christian University.

Strong, who has coached the team for three seven-loss seasons, said at a post-game news conference that he had not been told if his three-year tenure at Texas was over.

“I just told our players that I look forward to coming back and make sure we get this thing on track,” he said.

Texas running back D’Onta Foreman rallied behind the coach and was in tears on the field after the loss.

“I’ve invested so much into this program, so much into the team, and to come up short like that and for [Strong] to have to go through the stuff he’s going through is very emotional,” he said. “He’s a great guy, and he doesn’t deserve it, honestly.”
