Chattooga County Drug Bust Nets Three on Trafficking Charges

Three individuals were arrested by drug agents of the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office and an agent with the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, State Parole Officers, and members of the Summerville Police Department, last Thursday (November 12th).

According to a news release from Sheriff Mark Schrader those arrests were the culmination of an investigation into an illegal drug distribution operation.

That bust yielded approximately ten ounces of “ice”, a common form of methamphetamine; several grams of cocaine in powder form; crack cocaine, marijuana, and illegal prescription medication.

The illegal drugs had an estimated street value of more than $30,000.

Approximately $4,000 in cash and a vehicle was also seized by law enforcement.

Damien C. Smith, age 33, and 49 year old LaBrenda M. Jones, both from Summerville and 32 year old Rome resident Dominique L. Porter were arrested on an array of charges including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute as well as the possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute in addition to possession of over an ounce of marijuana.
