A 36 year old Chattooga County Georgia man was arrested on Wednesday and charged with 100 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child.  Jason Leon Thomas, a resident of Moore Street in Trion, stands accused of storing child pornography on his cell phone.

Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader said an investigation into the matter was launched after his office was notified by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the Georgia Internet Crimes against Children Tip Line.

Investigator Jason Burrage said a search of the cell phone revealed 100 images of suspected child pornography saved and stored onto the phone’s backup.  All of the images were taken to a child abuse pediatrician with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the highly-respected Dr. Stephen Messner, who was able to document that the children were all under the age of 18.
