Chattooga County Meth Bust Nets Four, including Alabama Woman

A meth bust conducted by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office resulted in “three plus one” people being arrested; that’s three at the scene, plus one just unlucky enough to drive up as the bust was taking place.

According to information released on Monday by Sheriff Mark Schrader on Saturday he and his investigators were on Davis Road in the Mountain View area, in the process of following up on an unrelated case – when they made contact with three individuals that were actively “cooking meth”.

The sheriff said when they arrived at the residence the homeowner ran into the house, then locked the door behind him; while another man ran around the house, and began removing his shirts – however, it was clear to the sheriff and those with him, what was going on.

A search warrant for the residence was obtained – and a subsequent search of the premises turned up one “actively cooking” bottle of meth, in addition to a number of items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.

In order to gain entry to the home, the front door had to be completely breached due to the fact, that the homeowner had installed several different locking mechanisms on the interior of the door.

Three Trion residents were arrested, Vincent R. Hix, Justin R. Sword and Emily A. Jones, and each charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Trafficking Methamphetamine, along with Possession of Meth, and Possession of Meth with Intent to Distribute. As investigators and drug task force agents were still at the scene, a vehicle pulled into the driveway – with a passenger inside the vehicle, identified as Misty Thompson from an Alabama address, being arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.
