Chattooga County State Court Judge Jon Dennis Recovering from Coronavirus

Chattooga County State Court Judge Jon Dennis informed media outlets Wednesday, that he has tested positive for COVID-19. 

Judge Dennis’ office issued a press release on Thursday, which stated that Mr. Dennis began running a low-grade fever Saturday afternoon; he was tested Sunday afternoon as the fever persisted. He also had body aches and shortness of breath and per the doctor’s instructions, he quarantined himself.  Wednesday he received his test results indicating that he was positive.

Reportedly at this point Mr. Dennis has no fever and is gaining strength – taking medication and following the regimen set forth by his doctor.

Because of a second confirmed COVID-19 case the Chattooga County Courthouse Annex will be closed until further notice. Other County facilities will remain open but operate under limited access. Please call the office that you are needing to see the how they can assist you before going to that office. Early Voting and the Registrars Office will remain open and operational but please bring a mask with you to vote. If you do not have a mask a mask will be provided.
