Cherokee Co. Board Of Education Meeting

A number of items were approved during Tuesday’s meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Education. Those included the approval of minutes from the April 4th and April 6th meetings, a review of accounts payable and a budget amendment.

The board also approved the 2017-2018 Energy Savings Budget for Centre Elementary School and approved a changed graduation date for Gaylesville School from Thursday, May 25 to Friday, May 26.

In addition, the board received for review a proposed substitute bus driver salary schedule schedule change. Out of state travel was approved for Sandi Wheeling and the Gaylesville Cheerleaders to attend cheer camp in Panama City July 31 – August 4 at no cost to the board, Jennifer McCord and the Cherokee County High and Centre Middle School Robotics Teams to attend the Robotics World Competition in Louisville, Kentucky April 19 – 23 to be funded by the Robotic account and parents and Ted Boyd and the Gaylesville Varsity Baseball Team to attend the High School Baseball Playoffs in Millport, Alabama and stay overnght in Columbus, MS on April 21 to be funded by Gaylesville Baseball Program.

Personnel items approved were the retirement of Lisa Weaver, Lunchroom Manager at Cedar Bluff School, Classified Placements, Shane Medley, Centre Bus Driver, Contract Employment, Tina Rowland – Homebound Contract.
