Baseball 12The Cherokee County High School Baseball Team dropped the Sardis Lions by a score of 4-1 behind Colin Edwards‘s early ground out.

Three first-inning runs helped Cherokee County to that victory over the Lions at CCHS on Tuesday. Cherokee County scored in the first on a groundout by Colin Edwards, a sacrifice fly by Colin Brewer, and an RBI single by Jy Lockridge.

The Sardis Lions’ lineup had no answer for Bronson Chandler. The Lions managed just two hits off of the Cherokee County’s pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and also struck out seven during his 6 2/3 innings of work.

Jesse Hubbard was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed four runs.

Cherokee County closer Riley Miller put away the final out to record the save.

Cherokee County High answered the Lions’ top inning with one run of its own in the fourth, and scored on an RBI double by Colin Edwards.

The Cherokee County High School Baseball Team is thirteen and three on the season – and they are currently on an eight game winning streak.
