Cherokee County Board Of Education Approves Hiring Of New CCHS Head Football Coach

The Cherokee County Board of Education has hired Jacob Kelley as new head football coach at Cherokee County High School. 

Kelley replaces Tripp Curry, who retired after 23 years.  Curry led the Warriors to three state championship appearances and won the Class 4A title in 2009.Kelley is a 2003 graduate of Cedartown High School in Georgia, where he spent last season as the Bulldogs’ offensive coordinator.  Prior to that he was the head coach at Washington-Wilkes High School.  

Kelley is the son of former Cedartown head coach – and former Piedmont assistant coach –  Everett Kelley.  

In other business, the board adopted an Anti-Harassment Policy revision, approved an agreement with the Department of Examiner’s of Public Accounts and approved the Extended Family for Kids financial support in the amount of $8,000.
