The Cherokee County School Board met on Thursday with a routine agenda.
The board approved the minutes from the previous meeting before receiving for review a copy of the accounts payable for February in addition to a copy of the financial report for January.
The board also approved two items as public works projects with those being the lighting projects at the Career & Technology Center and Sand Rock School respectively. This project is being funded by a grant that Energy Specialist Russell Jacoway about at the previous meeting and will allow for new LED lighting to be installed in each school.
The 2018/2019 Energy Savings Budget was approved for Centre Middle School.
Approved personnel items were:
Classified Employment; Donna Bailey, School Custodian at Cedar Bluff
Internal Job Postings; Summer School Administrator/Teacher and a Summer School Teacher
The next Cherokee County Board of Education meeting will be Tuesday, March 12 at 6:00 p.m. at the Central Board Office in Centre.
